A community is a place where a set of people practice realities together over time. It has its own profile, its own realities, its own contributions, and its own name.
How to build one
Tap the plus button and choose Build a new Community. Upload an image. This is optional and it becomes the community's face everywhere it appears. Give it a name and a handle. The name is what people read. The handle is how the community is found. Add members. Members come from your connections, so anyone you add to the community needs to be connected to you first. Everyone you add receives a notification inside the app. Choose the type. Set To Public makes the community discoverable. Leaving it off keeps it closed. Tap Create Community. You can switch into it immediately or keep exploring as yourself.
Public and private communities
A public community can be found through search, through interest categories, and through its activity on the public timeline. People who find it can request to join. A private community is invitation only. The admin adds members from their connections and nobody outside sees it.
Who runs it
The person who creates a community is its admin. The admin edits the community details, invites members, creates the community's realities and WOW stories, and starts the group message thread. Once a thread exists, every member can speak in it. Members can leave at any time. Each member's own profile shows how many communities they belong to.
The community profile
A community carries a profile of its own: Contributions, Members, Bookmarks, Fulfilled Intentions, and Selected Interests. Its realities are organized the same way yours are, by Community, Private Group, Public, and WOW Stories.
Switching between profiles
Tap the name at the top of your profile to switch. You move between yourself and any community you run. Whatever you do while switched into a community, you do as the community.
